Wow, thanks for the shoutout, Beverley! So glad my post was of help!

As you have probably read in my pages, one of my mantras is, "Family comes first." I mostly had my children in mind when I wrote that, but yeah, family in any situation comes first. I would imagine that caring for your mother as you are also takes a certain mental and emotional toll. So it's not just a matter of finding the time to write, but also having the creative energy. That's no small thing, I know!

Another great post, Beverley! Can't wait to read more adventures about the Quarantine Queen... lol

I appreciate your response, especially with regard to family! It has been a busy time, however, the experience with my mother opened up a whole flood of opportunities for my writing. As I said in a previous post, she became my muse. I'm still querying agents with no luck so far. At a writer's meeting I attended a couple of weeks ago, folks suggested that memoirs by not-well-known people rarely sell. They said I should turn the book into a fictional story. Disappointing to say the least. But I am going to keep querying for now. Thanks for your support!!

Oh, sorry to hear that! I'm not too dialed in with the memoir market, but what you've been hearing doesn't sound wrong to me. You might have more luck approaching small presses directly rather than via an agent. A friend of mine had a similar memoir, and she got it published via a publisher in Winnipeg.

Self-publishing is also an option. Although it takes work, these days you need to promote your own books anyway. Layout, cover artwork, etc. can be tedious to do or contract out, but it's doable.

Hope your book finds a home!
